Boys Varsity Cross Country · McDonough paces Pirates on sweltering Saturday

GALION, Ohio – Rocky River Boys’ Cross Country returned to action after a bye week, carding an impressive top-10 finish at the Galion Cross Country Festival on Saturday. [results]

Battling hot and humid conditions, three varsity runners (Luke Kishna—17:35, Luke Erml—18:42, Seth Williams—18:56) logged personal bests in the 26-team, 173-man Division II race at Amman’s Park Cross Country Course. Rocky River placed ninth in the event, with a team score of 237. River’s scoring runners were Jack McDonough (13th), Kishna (24th), Jacob Dorenkott (51st), Erml (70th) and Williams (79th).

McDonough registered his fine top-15 performance by posting a final time of 17:02. River’s team average was 18:07.

In the junior varsity race at Galion, the Pirates placed 10th-of-24. Freshman Jack Miller earned a personal best with a time of 19:35.
