Girls Varsity Lacrosse · Tigers claw back, top Pirates, 14-7

CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio – A 4-1 lead at the outset of the Pirates’ Thursday game at Chagrin Falls melted into hard-fought 14-7 loss against the Tigers.

Two goals by Rachel Solecki, one by Ellie Duncan and one by Sam Miller helped vault River to a 4-1 lead by the 15:37-mark of the opening half. The Tigers would go on to outscore the Pirates, 5-0, over the balance of the half.

Chagrin Falls made it seven goals in a row by netting the first two scores of the second half. The Pirates (5-3) managed three more goals (Allie Kysela, Miller, Duncan) the rest of the way against a stout Tiger defense.

The Pirate loss snaps a three-game win streak.
