WORTHINGTON, Ohio — Rocky River went 0-2 over a pair of games at Saturday’s Hannigan Galipault Tournament at Worthington High School. In an elite field of teams, the Pirates lost to Dublin Coffman, 10-3, and to Columbus Academy, 16-4.
“The teams we played were talented and very aggressive,” said Head Coach Lizz Steinmetz. “We had some miscommunications on defense and are still struggling to possess the ball under pressure, but the girls played very hard today. We’ll look to grow from what was a good experience and a tremendous challenge.”
For the day, Rocky River (5-5) was paced by Lauren Cain (three goals, six ground balls), Sam Miller (goal, seven ground balls, caused turnover), Gabrielle Avila (goal, four ground balls) and Allie Kysela (goal, two ground balls).
With her three goals in Worthington, Cain has now scored 40 goals this season.
